Working Title: Tales of the Bigfoot: An Anthology
Publisher: Living Dead Press
Release Date: Late Summer 2011

What we want:

Fun stories about Bigfoot.

You only get a book for payment if the story is OVER 3,500 words.

Your story only needs two things to qualify:

Location of author:

You need to be in the US or UK to get a book. Canada can get one too but the story needs to be bigger than 3,500 to make up for the cost of shipping which is greater than the US. It’s a cost cutting measure for us. Any other country is open for submissions but only if you wave your copy. Too much to ship there.
If you want to wave your book copy, you can be from other countries, too.

What rights do we want?

First print and electronic rights to your story for 1 year after publication date, that’s exclusive, too. After that you can resell it. But we do have the right to use the story for as long as there is a demand for the book. And if you need it earlier when close to return date, let us know, we’re flexible.
FYI: We make books fast. Sell a story to a publisher and they take a year to make the book and you lose that story for that year, in print or not. We make it quickly which means the story gets back to you faster so you can resell it if you choose.

What we don’t want:

What we’re making:

Tales of Bigfoot will be published as a trade paperback and an e-book, (Amazon Kindle and Book Nook by Barnes & Noble).

What you get:

One contributor’s copy of the book if the story is over 3,500 words.
The paperback copy of the book will be sent to you upon or shortly after the book’s official release date. We have up to a month from release date but it doesn’t usually take that long. Anything under will be accepted but no book!

(saying it again so you see this!)

What to send:
Make sure your name, address, email and phone number (if in US) is on the first page of your story.
Make all stories SINGLE SPACED and, please, no tabs. Flush to the left. (The reason is software compatibility)
Any words you want in Italics should be in Italics and also underlined.
Also, please send in Georgia font (that’s our favorite and what we use to edit your story).
Other than that, standard submission rules apply.
RTF (wordpad) or Microsoft word is fine.
If there are software compatibility problems, then we’ll ask you to send another way if necessary.

FYI: If the story isn’t sent like this then you didn’t read this and that sucks. Any professional writer reads the guidelines. So what does that say about you as a professional? It tells us something and we don’t even know you. First impressions and all that.

Where to send it:

Send submission when it’s ready via email to livingdeadpress@yahoo.com
Please also use the same email address for any questions not addressed here.
And as we’re on Facebook, feel free to contact us there as well.
